Gas Meter Information
What is a Meter Equipment Manager (MEM)?
The MEM is responsible for the maintenance and repair of your gas meter including the regulator, anaconda and inlet pipework.
To find out who maintains your gas meter please contact your gas supplier, their contact details can be found on the top of your energy bill.
Meter Removals
If you need your gas meter removed, you will need to contact your gas supplier for this service. Your supplier contact details can be found on the top of your energy bill.
Once this has been organised through your supplier, an engineer will attend and isolate the gas supply at the emergency control valve. The engineer will then remove the meter and leave a disc in the outlet pipework. Please note your gas service pipe will still remain live after the meter has been removed. We will contact your supplier and provide a final meter reading.
If you are changing the type of energy supply to your home and require the gas service pipe disconnecting please contact our My Connections team for a quotation – myconnections@gtc-uk.co.uk / 01359 243360.
