EMERGENCY CONTACTS

STAYING SAFE DURING BUILDING WORK

At GTC, your safety is our priority. Before starting any home improvements, it’s important to know where your gas pipes and meter are located. Building too close to, or over, a gas service pipe can create potentially serious safety risks and may breach Gas Safety Regulations.

We’re here to help you check first, so you can keep your home safe and compliant.

WHAT IS A BUILT OVER GAS SERVICE PIPE?

A built-over gas service pipe refers to a situation where a structure has been constructed directly above, or too close to, an existing gas pipe. This is considered non-compliant under the Gas Safety Regulations, as it prevents us from safely accessing the pipe in the event of an emergency.

Some examples of works where this might occur include:

External cladding

Porches

Conservatories

Extensions

Insulation

Landscaping Work
