Riverside Regeneration

As a prestigious part of the regeneration of the Leicester riverside area, Freemens Meadow marks a significant improvement in Leicester’s urban environment. This contemporary landmark riverside development has been heralded as ‘Leicester’s Docklands.’  With magnificent modern architectural features, the new community comprises 61 new homes within walking distance of Leicester’s vibrant city centre.

GTC excavated, installed and backfilled 600m of gas and 500m of electricity onsite mains.

Commitment to delivery

With GTC’s approach offering ‘no compromises on quality’ the challenge was to meet Barratt‘s extremely challenging timescales. Complex legal arrangements had to be agreed swiftly to ensure energisation occurred on schedule. GTC’s 100% commitment to the project overcame external barriers with regards to delivery deadlines by working outside normal hours to overcome site access issues and complete the upstream network connections. This approach ensured the show homes were successfully energised on time for the civic launch, which was attended by the Lord Mayor of Leicester.

“With such a landmark development in the spotlight of Leicester we were pleased to work with GTC who ensured the site energisation was delivered within our timescales to meet our needs.”
