GTC is delivering a full suite of utilities at Wintringham, including electricity, gas (where required), and ultra-fast fibre. Our fibre network is designed to be future-ready with speeds of 1Gbps. As with all GTC fibre networks, it is open access, giving residents a wide choice of internet service providers from the day they move in.
Innovative Infrastructure Solutions
The scale and phasing of Wintringham presented several infrastructure challenges that required forward-thinking solutions:
- Electricity capacity in the area was limited. GTC worked closely with Urban&Civic to coordinate a strategic reinforcement plan, ensuring load requirements could be met while aligning with housing delivery timing.
- Gas infrastructure involved an Intermediate Pressure connection and the installation of an on-site governor. This approach provided sufficient capacity for the entire development and avoided the need for more disruptive and costly reinforcement works.
- Fibre rollout was planned to ensure all homes had access to high-speed broadband from day one- a key selling point for modern homebuyers.
Seamless Integration with Masterplanning
Urban&Civic’s master developer model involves preparing fully serviced land parcels for housebuilders. GTC plays a key role in this process, installing main utility corridors across the site and providing plot-by-plot connections for builders including Cala Homes, Durkan, and Morris Homes. Our ability to coordinate across multiple parcels and development partners ensures that utilities are delivered on time, with minimal disruption and a single point of contact throughout.
