ElectricityFibreWaterGasFlexible Multi-Utility Approach
GTC provided a comprehensive multi-utility solution tailored to the specific requirements of the development. While GTC typically handles all groundworks for gas, electricity, water, and fibre, in this instance, CALA Homes opted to undertake the fibre groundworks themselves. GTC then laid the fibre in the prepared trenches, demonstrating flexibility and collaboration to meet the project’s needs.
- Integrated delivery of electricity, fibre, self-lay water, and gas networks
- Coordinated installation to streamline construction timelines
- Adaptable approach to accommodate client preferences
Ultrafast Fibre and Satellite TV for Every Home
GTC installed ultrafast Fibre-to-the-Home (FTTH) infrastructure, delivering 1Gbps speeds available to residents from the day they move in. The open-access fibre network offers homeowners a choice of Internet Service Providers, allowing them to select packages that best suit their needs.
Residents also benefit from GTC’s Fibre Integrated Reception System (FIRS), which uses a single dish and aerial array to provide satellite TV (including Sky Q), Freeview, and DAB radio. The signal is distributed to each home via the fibre network. To complement the high-end nature of the homes, GTC upgraded the RF splitters in each property, enabling television points in up to nine rooms.
Delivering Value Through Partnership
GTC’s collaborative approach ensured that utility installations were completed efficiently and with minimal disruption. Notably, GTC carried out electrical reinforcement works on North Deeside Road, avoiding months of potential roadworks and inconvenience for local residents.
