If during the process of attempting to commission gas appliances you suspect there is no flow of gas through the meter installation, the following may assist you:

  1. Following the installation of a gas meter, GTC will leave the meter outlet capped. Check that all caps or discs have been removed from the outlet of the meter installation prior to attempting to commission the appliance
  2. Landis and Gyr G470 gas meter screens will go into sleep mode when not in use and will appear blank. The screen can be activated by pressing either the A or B button on the front of the meter

Should the screen state, ‘credit off’, please follow the following steps to reset the meter:

  1. Press the A/B button to wake up the meter
  2. The screen will display ‘Credit Off’
  3. It will then Display ‘Press B for Gas’. Press B
  4. ‘Appliances Off?’ will then display. This is just a reminder to ensure all appliances are off
  5. ‘Hold A for Gas’ will then appear. Hold the ‘A’ button until ‘Release A for Gas’ is displayed
  6. ‘Please Wait Opening Valve’ will then display
  7. A click should now be heard, and the gas should now be back on
