GTC adapted the terms and conditions of our adoptions agreement to include bespoke payment terms to closely match the requirements of the consortium.
2008
Polkemmet Colliery, also known as Heartlands Redevelopment
Gas Infrastructure
5135 Domestic
Local house builders
The Heartlands Development involves the regeneration of the Polkemmet Colliery site near Whitburn, located half-way between Glasgow and Edinburgh. After excavation, the site will be reinstated with a new Business Park, 2,000 new homes, and two championship golf courses - including a state of the art clubhouse, a five star 150 bedroom luxury golf lodge hotel, and a conference centre. The 2,000 new houses, ranging from affordable dwellings to bespoke executive houses and luxury villas overlooking the golf course, will be integrated with the existing town.
As one of the largest brownfield regeneration projects in Europe, the re-development has faced complications - including the installation of an IP gas feeder main requiring specialist design criteria. Working closely with both the land owner and the builder, GTC has met project challenges head-on, ensuring the smooth transition to GTC processes, design approval, delivery on site, and payment to the UIP’s.
